The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India issued a scathing report on Delhi’s 2021-22 excise policy, alleging major financial improprieties resulting in an approximated Rs. 2,002 crore loss for the state exchequer. According to the report, tabled before the Delhi Assembly on February 25th, 2025, the policy itself contained structural deficiencies and loopholes while the execution was haphazard, leading directly to the unanticipated dearth in expected earnings. Key Findings of the CAG Report
