Under the categories of Best Marine District, Best Inland District, Best Himalayan and North Eastern District, and Best District in Union Territories, the Indian government has announced four awards for the Darrang district in the fishing industry this year.
DFDO to Accept Award
At the World Fisheries Day ceremony in New Delhi on November 21, District Fishery Development Officer (DFDO) of Darrang district, Bipul Khataniar, will accept this esteemed award on behalf of the sector.
Collective Effort of Fish Farmers Brings Laurel
The DFDO has credited this accomplishment to the diligent efforts of all fish farmers, fishermen, fish traders, and fisheries community organizations, as well as the collaboration of the District Administration of Darrang and the District fisheries Department.
