In a historical achievement, Kokrajhar located in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) as Kokrajhar organized its first-ever national half marathon on the theme “Run for Peace” in collaboration with NCC and Peace City Kokrajhar, the BTC Sports and Welfare Department. The event was organized with an aim to promote the power of sports in fostering peace and unity.
The marathon was held at the SAI Stadium, Kokrajhar. Males and females participated in three racing categories: the 21-kilometer, 10-kilometer, and 5-kilometer races.

The marathon showcased the region’s commitment to sports and peace, with 17 NCC groups and notable athletes taking part.

Key Dignitaries Present in the Half Marathon
The half marathon was attended by key dignitaries including Assam Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Nandita Gorlosa, BTC Executive Member Daobaisa Boro and ADG NCC NER Gagan Deep. Ministerv Garlosa acknowledged the success of the half-marathon and called Bodoland an emerging hub for sports and tourism.
Attractive Prize pool worth Rs 15 lakhs
The event featured a prize pool of 15 lakh rupees which helped attracting participants to the half marathon. Additionally, the NCC announced plans to establish a new battalion in the region to further engage local youth.
