Vivek Ramaswamy is apparently being sidelined for Secretary of State by Donald Trump, who is now favoring Marco Rubio. According to recent sources, Donald Trump is considering beating Vivek Ramaswamy to choose Senator Marco Rubio as Secretary of State for his second term in office. As a pivotal ally throughout Trump’s 2024 campaign, Rubio is poised to become the first Latino to serve as the top diplomat in the United States.
Having been a member of the Senate since 2010, Rubio was even a candidate for Trump’s 2024 running mate.
Marco Rubio picked by Trump instead of Vivek Ramaswamy

ABC News reports that Senator Marco Rubio is being considered by President-elect Donald Trump for the role of Secretary of State. Rubio is being evaluated alongside Vivek Ramaswamy, another important friend. Trump has made a number of high-profile cabinet appointments, including the National Security Advisor, White House Chief of Staff, and EPA chief. This decision follows other appointments.
Ramaswamy would become the second well-known Indian-American MAGA figure to be excluded from Trump’s incoming administration if he is ignored. Haley was formerly the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, but Trump declared she would not be invited for a position. It has been alleged that Haley’s criticism of Trump contributed to this omission.
About Marco Rubio
Rubio has been a member of the Senate since 2011 and currently serves as the vice chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Before the Republican Party named Ohio Senator JD Vance Trump’s vice presidential nominee, the 53-year-old was in the running to be his running mate. He also serves on the chamber’s Foreign Relations Committee. Although Rubio lost the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, he won the primaries in Minnesota, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
Marco Rubio has continuously advocated for a strong and realistic foreign policy, especially with regard to countries such as China, Iran, and Cuba. Despite his tendency to be stern on foreign issues, he has shifted his stance to support Trump’s, particularly when Ukraine was at issue. Rubio was a vocal supporter of Ukraine at first, but he later criticized a $61 billion funding plan for failing to adequately address immigration issues.
Vivek Ramaswamy’s involvement in Trump’s cabinet hinted
The involvement of Vivek Ramaswamy in Trump’s cabinet is hinted at. Vivek Ramaswamy, the Indian-American businessman who first ran against Donald Trump in the presidential election before abandoning his campaign and supporting Trump, has made references to a possible position in the 47th President’s future cabinet. When Vivek Ramaswamy appeared on ABC’s This Week, Jonathan Karl questioned him about his possible involvement in a second Trump administration. “A couple excellent options are available,” Ramaswamy said. Vivek Ramaswamy is probably going to look for positions in Trump’s cabinet, possibly as the director of the Department of Homeland Security. Alternatively, he might concentrate on Ohio politics, where he might be able to fill the Senate vacancy left by J.D. Vance’s vice presidency.
