This year, the examination is scheduled to be conducted in two shifts, a decision that has elicited varied reactions from the medical community.

According to the official notification released on March 17, 2025, NEET PG 2025 will be administered in a computer-based format across two shifts:

  • Shift 1: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM

The decision to hold the exam in two shifts has raised concerns among aspirants. Many candidates have taken to social media to voice their worries, recalling problems from last year’s normalization process and questioning the fairness of having multiple shifts. One aspirant tweeted, “The NBEMS has announced the NEET PG 2025 will be conducted in two shifts despite the normalization issues in 2024! Why repeat the same mistake?” The Unified Doctors Front (UDF) has also formally written to the Health Minister, urging a reconsideration of this decision to ensure a single-shift examination.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Process

To be eligible for NEET PG 2025, candidates must possess an MBBS degree or a provisional MBBS pass certificate recognized by the Medical Council of India. Additionally, they should have a permanent or provisional registration certificate for their MBBS qualification and must have completed or be scheduled to complete their one-year internship by July 31, 2025.

The application process will be conducted online through the official NBEMS website. Candidates are encouraged to regularly check the website for updates regarding the release of the information bulletin. This bulletin will provide detailed instructions on the application procedure, examination fees, and other essential information.

Preparation Tips for Aspirants

With the exam date set, aspirants have approximately three months to prepare. Here are some tips to optimize preparation:

  • Understand the Exam Pattern: Familiarize yourself with the NEET PG exam structure, including the number of questions, marking scheme, and subjects covered.
  • Create a Study Schedule: Develop a realistic and consistent study plan that covers all subjects, allocating more time to weaker areas.
  • Utilize Quality Study Materials: Refer to standard textbooks and trusted online resources for comprehensive coverage of topics.
  • Practice Regularly: Solve previous years’ question papers and take mock tests to build confidence and improve time management skills.
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of any new developments or changes related to the exam by regularly visiting the official NBEMS website.

The announcement of NEET PG 2025’s exam date provides clarity for aspirants planning their preparation strategies. While the decision to conduct the exam in two shifts has raised concerns, it is crucial for candidates to focus on their preparation and stay informed about any further updates from NBEMS. A well-structured study plan, combined with consistent effort and utilization of quality resources, will be key to succeeding in this competitive examination.
