This collaboration aims to facilitate QR code-based UPI payments at various establishments throughout Singapore, including tourist attractions, restaurants, and retail outlets. The phased rollout is expected to encompass over 12,000 merchants, providing Indian travelers with a seamless and familiar payment experience.
In 2024, Singapore welcomed over 1.2 million visitors from India. The integration of UPI into Singapore’s payment ecosystem is anticipated to enhance the convenience for these travelers, allowing them to use a payment method they are accustomed to without the need for currency exchange or additional fees.
