Eligibility Criteria

Nationality & Residency:

1. Must be an Indian citizen as per Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
2. Permanent residency in Assam is mandatory.
3. Candidates must provide a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued in Assam for educational purposes or an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate along with the application.​

Age Limit:

1. Assistant Engineer: 21 to 38 years as of 1st January 2025
2. Junior Engineer: 18 to 40 years as of 1st January 2025
3. Age Relaxation:
4. SC/ST: 5 years
5. OBC/MOBC: 3 years
6. Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years

Educational Qualifications For Water Resources Department:

1. Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical):
   • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or institution.
   • Alternatively, candidates who have passed Part A & B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) in the respective discipline are eligible, provided they enrolled before 31st May 2013.
   • Note: The degree must be a regular full-time course. Degrees obtained through distance education will not be accepted.
2. Junior Engineer (Civil):
   • Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology from a recognized institution.
   • Note: The diploma must be a regular full-time course. Diplomas obtained through distance education will not be accepted.​

Pay Scale Of Water Resources Department

1. Assistant Engineer: ₹30,000 – ₹1,10,000 per month (Pay Band 4) with a Grade Pay of ₹12,700.
2. Junior Engineer: ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 per month (Pay Band 2) with a Grade Pay of ₹8,700.​
