Eligibility Criteria
Nationality & Residency:
- Must be an Indian citizen as per Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
- Permanent residency in Assam is mandatory.
- Candidates must provide a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued in Assam for educational purposes or an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate along with the application.
Age Limit:
- Assistant Engineer: 21 to 38 years as of 1st January 2025
- Junior Engineer: 18 to 40 years as of 1st January 2025

Educational Qualifications For Water Resources Department:
- Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or institution.
- Alternatively, candidates who have passed Part A & B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) in the respective discipline are eligible, provided they enrolled before 31st May 2013.
- Note: The degree must be a regular full-time course. Degrees obtained through distance education will not be accepted.
- Junior Engineer (Civil):
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology from a recognized institution.
